Pull The Trigger by Melissa Ecker

Melissa Ecker starts the Memory Grove series out with a bang. The first book is Pull the Trigger, and it gives us our first look into the small town, and into the lives of Rebecca and Justin. I was instantly pulled into Pull the Trigger.
Rebecca Harper is making a clean break. The ink is dry on her divorce decree and her dream job has finally come to fruition. In two weeks, she will be on a plane to St. Louis. All her plans are set until sexy cop Justin Cain, her former high school crush, asks her to dinner.
This one night out instigates a roller coaster ride of hot sex, serious soul searching and heart breaking decisions. Will Rebecca leave Justin behind to follow her dreams? Or will his love be enough to keep her in Memory Grove?
I loved Rebecca, she works at the local library. She married her first love, and is not divorced. I didn't care for the man she married and how he treated her. I wanted things to change for her, which it finally does when she goes out with Justin. I loved seeing her regain her self confidence and independence.

I have a soft spot for men in uniform, so I liked Justin from the first moment he stepped onto the page. Justin a police officer. I found it sweet that Justin was waiting for the one and didn't marry before. I loved that Justin was able to show his softer side.

During Pull The Trigger I loved the changes in Rebecca. Justin brings out of whole different side to her. He shows her what Tim, her ex did to her and proves she doesn't have the need for low self esteem. There was an instant connection with Rebecca and Justin in Pull The Trigger, but it never felt rushed.

Pull the Trigger is well written and the sex scenes are sizzling. I really enjoyed Pull the Trigger, and can't wait to read the the other two in the series, Mount Up and Feed the Fire.
