Chubby in the Night by Viola Grace

Chubby in the Night is the second book by Viola Grace I have and I love her writing style. Chubby in the Night is apart of the Nexus Chronicles. Even though this is the first book I have read in the series, I didn't feel lost or confused.
Max just wanted to have a night out with her cousin and go home. As a plus sized lass she didn't fit in amongst the tiny blonde gazelles, but protecting her cousin from a perv in the alley changed her fate. In a moment of self preservation when a man started chewing on her neck, she bit the hand over her mouth, setting a paranormal chemical reaction into play. Now that she is infected with his blood, he either needs to turn her or destroy her. The vampire tribunal chips in with an option for Max. She can rescue their kidnapped Guild Master, and he will decide her fate. Sounds like the best deal of the evening.
Max found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. She went out with her cousin, and ended up finding a guy bitting her neck. Now her fate must be determined by the Guild Master of the local vampires, Gregori. I liked Max. She knows she is plus size and doesn't let people push her around. Plus she has a wonderful sense of humor, and quick witted.

I enjoyed Gregori character. Especially when he didn't give up trying to break through Max's protective shell. He was the perfect match to Max.

One thing I really enjoyed about Chubby in the Night was that Viola didn't stick to the stereotypical thin main character. Chubby in the Night was a wonderful story with twist and turns that will keep you reading until the last page.
