Siren's Surrender by Devyn Quinn

After reading Siren's Call I was eager to dive into Siren's Surrender, but in the back of my mind I wondered about Gwen's story. In Siren's Call seemed somewhat reserved and didn't embrace the mermaid side of herself.
Never embracing her mermaid heritage, Gwen Lonike lives in the human world as the owner of a Maine B&B. But when the gateway to a lost mermaid kingdom is opened, freeing its dangerous queen, Gwen can no longer hide, nor keep her secret from covert agent Blake Whittaker, who's assigned to trail a strange thread of paranormal activity.
How long can Gwen and her sisters remain safe from a destructive queen, and from Blake's superiors, whose ultimate mission could prove the greatest threat of all?
Gwen really won me over in Siren's Surrender. By the end of Siren's Surrender Gwen was starting to embrace her mermaid side, she was becoming a better person, and a stronger character. Gwen would rather blend in with the humans and run her B&B By The Sea. She is the middle sister, but her mercraft seems to have a stronger and somewhat darker call to her then Tessa and Addison. I loved watching Gwen accept herself as a mermaid, and let Blake in.

Special Agent Blake Whitaker arrives in town for what he is hoping will only be one night. He plans to ask Kenneth and Tessa some follow up questions about Jake Massey and what happened  in the Mediterranean (Siren's Call). Blake is not happy about being back in his hometown, and it brings up a lot of bad memories for him. It took me a little time to warm up to Blake, but by the end of Siren's Surrender I was rooting for him.

Siren's Surrender is a wonderful second book to the Dark Tides series. It is full of adventure, and romance. Siren's Surrender is more Gwen's story, but all the sister's play a huge roll in the book. Siren's Surrender leaves me excited for Addison's story, Siren's Desire (February 2012).

I haven't read either of the books but I plan to now. Sounds like a book that I would really like, just my type of book. Great review.
