Darcy Smith has known she was different from other people since she was a very small child. She had been passed from foster home to foster home till eventually finding herself on the streets. Without many friends and very little money Darcy finds herself working several jobs just to make ends meet. But it is her job in a Goth bar that introduced her to the “real” paranormal scene of Chicago when two very different and dangerous strangers enter her life everything she thought was fantasy becomes reality.

The future of his packs existence depends on a deep secret that has had him searching for Darcy Smith for 30 years and he has the answers to her past that she has been searching for. Before Darcy has a chance to find out the answers of her past she is taken against her will and held captive by the dangerous vampire Styx, the Anasso of the Vampires, and he will do almost anything  to keep Darcy from falling in to the hands of Salvatore and the Weres. While being held in his secluded Illinois estate Darcy learns that she is not the only one who is different.

Styx, a two thousand year old Aztec vampire, with the looks of a god and a body for sin has kept himself hidden from the world for centuries, and with his guards the Ravens he is the law that all Demons must live by. But his troubles with a pack of Weres who are now encroaching on his territory and breaking Demon Law must pay for this infraction. Learning that the reason they are in Chicago was easy enough, but the reason behind their infatuation with the human woman Darcy Smith is something that is not so easy. While holding her captive he remembers what it feels like to lust after a woman and now all of his years in seclusion are making her difficult women to impress. Now he has a choice to make does he keep the women he loves or does he use her as a barging chip to save the Demons from an all out bloody war?

With the help of his fellow vampires, the last Shallot Demon, a Goddess and a three foot tall French gargoyle, Styx will help Darcy come to terms with her true identity and hopefully win her heart. But along the way there are many obstacles that come between them. The realization that Darcy has demon blood running in her veins and a past that can’t stay hidden forcing her to make the decision between the past she has longed to know and a new love.

It’s a Romeo and Juliet story for the paranormal world. The heavy and hot romance of Darkness Everlasting makes your toes curl and your heart melt for this hard male.  You will hold your breathe with the characters as each chapter reveals new and exciting twists in the plot. Alexander Ivy writes a story that keeps you guessing with each passing page but also gives you and insight into the lives of past characters. The relationship between the characters is one of heated passion, fury and quite a few humorous moments. This is the kind of story I love to read, Darkness Everlasting is a book full of romance, adventure and a story line that lets you build and add to it long after you are done reading.
