Doctor's Orders by Annick Claire

I personally feel that second chance love stories are touch and go. Sometimes the author does it well and it comes alive to the reader, and other times it just doesn't seem believable. Doctor's Orders is a second chance love story that I enjoyed.
When Brianna Raines left Door County for life as a world famous doctor in international aid, she'd left behind the only boy she’d ever loved, and without saying good-bye. But she and Cody Colbrick had shared nothing more than a few secret, sizzling hours together. Hadn't they? Now she's back, and the heat in his eyes tells her he may be mad as hell, but anger’s not the only thing on his mind.
Brainy Rainy left Door County without a backward glance, and Cody’s spent twelve years telling himself that she’s out of his system. One look, though, and he wants her more than ever. Before she heads out to whatever exotic place she’s going to next, he’ll make sure neither of them forget her wild, hot visit in the arms of a Colbrick boy.
Brianna left Door County and Cody to go to college without even saying goodbye. She went to college and then medical school. After medical school she went to remote counties to be a doctor. All the while she was in love with Cody.

Cody has loved Brianna since he was twelve years old and no matter how hard he tried he couldn't find another woman that lived up to Brianna.

Brianna and Cody's second chance came when she came back to Chicago to accept a award before taking a three month break. Cody shows up and wants to know why she just walked out of his life without saying goodbye.

The chemistry in Doctor's Orders is great. Annick does a wonderful job at making you feel for the characters and really brings it to life. Doctor's Orders is the third book in the Colbrick Boys series, and I know I need to pick up the other two soon.

Overall I really enjoyed Doctor's Orders and look forward to reading the first two books, Long Hot Summer and Suite Seduction. Doctor's Orders is a quick read that will make you believe it is possible to have a second chance.
