I have never been a fan of historical romance books but Lydia Dare is one of my must read authors. I loved that Blaire Lindsey was unconventional for her time, it added spice to It Happened One Bite. Blaire was  more comfortable hunting and fishing than in lace and finery. One thing that stands out for me is how strong willed Blaire was.

James Maitland is a vampire who is recovering from a cursed sleep state for the past twenty years. I loved that James was such a gentleman. He was upfront about his feelings to Blaire, even though he was conflicted.

It Happened One Bite is as well written as all the other books by Lydia Dare. Lydia Dare is a talented writing team that always draws you in with the first page, her feisty nature can be felt by the reader. The romance between Blaire and James comes alive for the reader. There are also some wonderful minor characters, that are a wonderful addition. Paranormal readers are going to love this new series.
