How far can you fall? Caspar had once shone brighter than any star in the sky. He led an exciting life, had a good job and the love of his family. Now he barely survives in a village where he’s shunned by everyone, even his parents. Unemployed, unemployable, he consoles himself with stringless sex—lots of it.Lately Ally was not the luckiest woman. Weird and strange accidents were happening and pretty close together. All of them, including almost being killed by a train, has got her paranoid. She could swear that someone was trying to kill her…but why? Deciding to get out of town to keep herself safe and get her head on straight she goes to her brother’s vacation house. Not sure how long she will be staying she decides to find a job and “set up shop” for a while. She finds herself in the only pub in town making friends fast while playing a friendly game of darts. Then she makes eye contact with a dark mysterious lone stranger in the corner. Her new friends tell her his name is Casper and to stay away because he is trouble…the only problem is she finds herself instantly drawn and attracted to the brooding stranger. She really doesn’t need to add another complication into her already difficult situation but can she resist him? Who is he? What is he all about? Will she risk falling in love while her life seems to be at stake?
How hard can you land? Ally escapes death by a whisker when she falls in front of a train. Not an accident, someone pushed her, and she doesn’t hang around to give them another shot. But she finds herself falling in a different way when she meets Caspar, and she plummets hard and fast. He’s dark, he’s brooding, he’s hotter than any man she’s ever met, and she wants him—bad.
How high can they soar? With Ally’s adversary closing in, plus Caspar’s tendency to screw things up, if they don’t open their arms and catch each other, they’ll burn up in an atmosphere determined to keep them apart.
Casper is the town outcast. He keeps it that way even though it hurts. The truth would be more harmful and painful for everyone involved. He is down on his luck because of how everyone looks at him. They all blame him for his sister’s death…he even did time for it. He would rather take the blame then for them to find out the truth because that would put others in danger. He is not attached to anyone nor is he looking for love. After all who would really want him? Sure he could get countless women into bed but would any of them truly want what he had to offer? He was content with sex without the commitment until she walked into the bar….. She was beautiful and intriguing. He wanted to know her, to claim her for himself but he would not do that to her. When their eyes meet he is drawn to her stronger than he expected to be and he could swear that she felt it too. Would she want him? Would she be able to accept him for who he really was? Or would she listen to what the towns’ people had to say? Did he even want to find out?
From the moment Casper and Ally meet the sparks fly and their connection only grows stronger throughout Kiss a Falling Star. I loved how Kiss a Falling Star came around full circle. The ending was great and had a few surprises for the characters and readers. Both Ally and Casper were easy to relate with. I enjoyed how Ally didn’t care what anyone thought of Casper she was able to see past the image he projected to the man he really was. Casper was a very endearing character. Barbara Elsborg also included a great assortment of wonderful secondary characters. I would recommend Kiss a Falling Star to anyone who enjoys a contemporary romance thriller. It was a really good quick and enjoyable read.
