Long Hot Summer by Annick Claire

After reading book three, Doctor's Orders, in the Colbrick Brothers series I had to start at the beginning with Long Hot Summer. Sadly Long Hot Summer didn't have quite the same draw that Doctor's Orders did for me.
Maya's lived half a lifetime since she left her Wisconsin roots for the Big City. Now older, wiser, and busier, she's overcoming her ambivalence about her past and coming home to her family's cabin in Door County woods. A stormy night brings her face to face and skin to skin with Jason Colbrick, one of the sexy Colbrick boys--the hottest family in Wisconsin. But Jason is the youngest and six years her junior. He's up for the challenge of one stormy, sultry night, but baring your body sometimes means baring your soul. Is one night too little or too much?
Maya is back at her family cabin in Door County for a break. She hated the place as a teenager but now it's one of her favorite places when she isn't working. The evening she arrives she can't help but wonder about the Colbrick brothers and how they turned out. She always had a thing for the youngest Jason.

Jason stops by her cabin to check on her since there is a storm coming in, but one thing leads to another and before you know it they are heating up the night. Jason has know something was brewing between Maya and him since he was sixteen but  being younger than her put her just out of his reach.

Long Hot Summer was a good read but I didn't feel the connection between the characters like I did in Doctor's Orders. I wanted Long Hot Summer to be longer, and to build up to the hot scenes between Maya and Jason.  However Long Hot Summer was a quick read and a good start to the Colbrick Brothers series.
