Love's Nest by Marisa Chenery

I have to say that Love's Nest is the first book in the Strange Hollow series that left me with mixed feeling. I enjoyed parts of Love's Nest, but at the same time I thought it could have been shorter. I know this is surprising for you to hear me say that I thought a book could be shorter, but it is true. I felt some of the ending of Love's Nest was added on as a second thought, it didn't seem to flow for me.
Lilin, the owner of Love's Nest a B & B in Strange Hollow, always knew her mate would be a werewolf. As a succubus who had been born beautiful instead of ugly, and her refusing to seduce men to steal their energy, she was disowned by her family. When a new werewolf comes to town, she knows he is the one for her. Even though he displays all the signs of his mating urge kicking in when around her, he refuses to claim her as his. Not willing to let him get away, Lilin has a few tricks up her sleeve to get him to change his mind.
Galen had come to Strange Hollow to start out fresh. His nose has been the bane of his existence. Whenever he meets a woman he is attracted to, his nose tells him she is the one meant for him. Only after he has slept with her does he find out she isn’t. Not wanting to take a chance that she isn’t his mate, Galen had made it a practice to seduce every woman that set off his mating urge. Of course, it caused more problems than not with the rest of the male werewolves in his pack. Deciding to go lone wolf to get away from his problems, Galen tries to fight his mating urge when he meets Lilin. Knowing she isn’t really his mate, he tries to resist her. But the question is, how long can he stay strong when the woman he wishes was his does everything she can to get him into bed?
Since Lilin, a succubus, refuses to seduce men to steal their engery, she has come to Strange Hollow. She knows that she will mate with a werewolf, and now she is just running her Bed and Breakfast waiting for that special werewolf to come through the doors.

In comes Gavin Blackwood. He left his pack because of the tension of sleeping with all the women in his pack. He isn't a man whore, instead his nose leads him to believe any women he finds attractive is his mate. How else is he going to find out if she is him mate or not besides sleeping with him?

One thing I enjoyed about Love's Nest is hearing about previous characters. I enjoyed having Daker and Thora (the main characters in Jinx and her Werewolf) back for Love's Nest. I also enjoyed finding out more about Jacinda.

However I did notice that in Love's Nest that there is a different founding day for Strange Hollow that was mentioned in Simon's Fate. I guess that is to be expected when there are different authors writing this series, but I would have thought that an editor, or someone would have caught it. Some writers might not notice it but it bothered me because now I wonder which is correct. Not really a big deal but still.

Overall I enjoyed the love story between Lilin and Gavin in Love's Nest. The only thing I didn't care for is the ending. Sorry I won't go into details about it since I don't want to give it away but once you read it you will know what I mean. To me it seemed someone added at the last moment, there was nothing leading up to this moment.
