Male Order by Amy Ruttan

Romance books are filled with fantasies we love to read but would not act out. But the new mailman is temping an author to break out of the shell her ex-husband’s leaving put her in. She just may have to take a page from her own books and pull a “Male Order” to get him.
Angela West is a romance author whose muse has flown the coop since her ex-husband left her for a younger woman. She forgot about sex and lust, until a new man started delivering her mail.
Bastien, a mocha-skinned god with a Cajun accent, is the new mail carrier, and his smoldering looks promise more than politeness--much, much more.
Deciding to throw caution to the wind and not live vicariously through her characters, Angela seduces Bastien, but instead of a one-night fling she finds something more in his arms. Yet, Angela has been burned before and doesn’t know if she can let her heart be hurt again.
The blurb really covers everything needed to know about Male Order. Angela and her husband were a bad match all around and he completely destroyed her self image and confidence before leaving her. After he left, she has all but become a recluse since she works from home as a writer.

But the new, sexy mail-man is “waking her back up” to life and lust. But seducing a man, a sexy younger man at that, takes more nerve than those scenes in her books would suggest. Bastien is most definitely interested. And shows her she is still a sexy, beautiful woman. But some signals are hard to read…like what each one wants the next day? What does Bastien really want? And can she handle a relationship after what her ex did to her?

Male Order plays on a classic fantasy idea. Not that they make mailmen or UPS guys like that around my area! But this is fun in that idea and Bastien in not your average guy anyway. Male Order keeps from feels creepy in that Bastien doesn’t make the moves on Angela but has been greeting her and talking to her for months before anything happens between them. So while they don’t really know each other before the seduction, they aren’t quite strangers either. This is sort of like one of those crushes from afar and classic dream guy set-up mixed together.

Male Order is a quick little (erotic) read. There is not really anything surprising here, but it is a nice exploration of a woman finding her worth again. And a sexy man may not be needed to do so, but who are we to turn down help along the way? Ok, so we like reading about strong, caring men who help the women in their lives. And Bastien fits that bill perfectly.

Thanks for the great review!

They DO make mailmen like that where I live. ;-)

No this isn't based on reality sadly. I was 9 months pregnant with my third child when I wrote this. LOL!

Amy,
You better be careful or we will all be moving to your area for mailmen like that. :)

OH trust me it's worth it.

Granted he's the first one I've encountered! LOL!

Amy-

If you come up with things this creative/fun and spicy when very pregnant, I would almost be scared just how good you are during normal times.
Of course, I guess running after 3 kids doesn't leave many 'normal' times anymore!
It was still a fun idea and good read.

LOL, Vicky very true, not many 'normal' times to be certain, but all very interesting. :)

Erotic books based on hot mailmen. What an interesting concept. Most of the mailmen where I live are actually mail-ladies so that doesn't work out so well for me.
