Marie Tuhart Interview & Giveaway

Hello Marie Tuhart. Thank you to taking the time to stop by. I am honored to have you here. You can find the review for Quicksilver Ranch: Roped and Ready HERE and In Plain Sight HERE.

Thanks for having me today Marissa.

To start would you mind telling the readers a little about yourself?

I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area, I'm the youngest of three children, I work as a project manager for an International telecommunications company and I love to read.

Your newest release Quicksilver Ranch: Roped and Ready is what can you tell us about it?

Quick Silver Ranch is no ordinary dude ranch.

After Becca Dalton finds her fiancé in bed with her boss, she ends the ill-fated engagement on the spot and quits her job. She heads to Quick Silver Ranch, looking to regroup before an interview for the job of her dreams--an executive position at a five-star hotel.

Becca's best-laid plans are ruined when she discovers the exclusive ranch is for consenting couples who spend their days and nights exploring their most wicked sexual fantasies. For Becca to remain at the ranch and take advantage of all the arousing activities, she needs a partner.

Her sexy college lover and part owner of the ranch, Tyler Carson, is willing to break all the rules, partner up with Becca and have her roped and ready for a week of unimaginable pleasure.  But is a week enough to satisfy his desire for Becca?

In Quicksilver Ranch: Roped and Ready do you identify with any of your characters more than the others?
I really didn't identify with one character more than the other.  I try to get into each of my characters skin so I can understand what they're feeling even if I've never experienced it myself.

What inspired Quick Sliver Ranch series and its characters?

The Wild Rose Press had put out a call for submissions for a new series call Cowboy Kink.  I printed out the information and put it aside.  A few months later I was ready to start a new book and starting thinking about what I could write for this new series.  The idea of a dude ranch came to mind, then I though "what about an adult dude ranch."  The idea blossomed from there and so did the books.

Will we see more of Tyler and Becca in Jared and Angie's Story?

At the beginning of the book Tyler and Becca make an appearance.

After Saddle Up will there be more books in the Quicksilver Ranch series?

There are none planned at this time.

When did you know that you wanted to be a writer? Was your family and friends supportive?

I used to make up stories when I was little, but it wasn't until I was almost twenty that I decided I wanted to try my hand at writing.  I did, then life interfered, I went back to college to get my degree and writing was put on the back burner.  After college and a job changed, I decided to try writing again.  My family and friends have always been very supportive.

What is the writing process like for you? Do you have a particular writing process or any writing rituals?

No writing rituals, mainly because for years I had a job where I traveled a lot and I learned to write almost anywhere.  My writing process is usually finding a spark of an idea and letting my mind run with it.  The idea percolates in my brain from a day to a week, sometimes scenes will come to me other times, characters start to form.  When my fingers start itching to get the information down, I know it's time to sit down and write.

What are you currently working on? Anything you can share regarding your current Work in Progress?

My current work in progress is called His For The Weekend.  Cassie and Marcus have been dancing around their attraction to each other and decide that they'll have one wild weekend together.  For sixty hours anything goes but at the end of the weekend, they'll go their separate ways.

Is there anything else you would like to share with us?

I love the idea of an Adult Dude Ranch.

You say that you love your job but do you think that you'll ever quit to pursue writing full time?

What sort of research did you have to do for this book?

Hi Meggerfly,

Sorry to be so late in replying yesterday was one of those days.

Actually on the day job, I'm able to retire from it next year, so I'll be writing full time after that.

Hi Elaing8,

My favorite scene in Roped and Ready? That's a hard one. But I would say, one of my favorite scenes is where Tyler is getting Becca to open up to him, where he sees the woman he knew in college instead of the woman who's closed up to all sensuality in her life.

Hi Estella,

I really didn't have to do a lot of research. I did some research on sex toys on the internet, but that was about it. I already knew exactly where I could place the ranch.

Hi Amie,

Thanks for stopping by. His For The Weekend has been fun to write. I originally wrote it for a submission call for another publisher, but never finished it up to get it to them.
