Have you ever messed up so bad you loose the most important thing in your life? In Mirror Music
, one rock star finds an outrageous way to get the attention of the one he ‘lost’ years ago but never got over.
It has been four years since Jenny has seen Robbie. Now Dr. Calahan, she has even just finished an important research study. But it seems she hasn’t gotten Robbie out of her system either. Because when he sends tickets and a backstage pass for his concert, she ends up going even when she thinks it’s a bad idea. Seeing him again proves her instinct correct, he still can still make her heart beat fast with just a look.
Lack of love was never their problem. They had been in love for years. But making things work long term was another issue altogether. Now she is a doctor and he is a huge rock star. Is there even the smallest chance they can get over their past problems? How can they make things work for the future?
Mirror Music
is the second in the Mattress Music Trilogy. While still good, I liked the other two better, but that maybe because I am not as fond of second chance stories. As much as I mess up and stick my foot in my mouth, I really should be more understanding here. And the idea behind this second chance at love is actually good and legitimate: sometimes we are too immature for what life gives us and need time to grow up first. The real question becomes whether or not we grow enough to recognize what we lost and be able to go after it…
Mirror Music
is another Quickies® from Ellora’s Cave, so you know this is a short, steamy read. I like that Robbie not only goes to such effort to get Jenny back, he also admits that he messed up in the past and has grown up and realized his mistake. With the blurb above there is no surprise here, but the way Robbie goes about getting Jenny’s attention is sweet. And the rest of Mirror Music
is a nice little erotica (although there is such a thing as too many mirrors for some of us. Jenny is braver than I am!).
As Robbie Harding belts out hit song Jenny to a packed Wembley Stadium, my heart tears, my mind fudges and my insides heat to a lusty, pulsing boiling point.Robbie Harding is the lead singer for the band Manic Machines. He seems to have it all: great band and friends, world famous singer, platinum albums, money, and even a Grammy. But the one thing missing is the love of his life, Jenny. They had grown up together and started dating when old enough. But when she went off to college, he got too jealous of the possibility of what could be happening. Not what happened, just what he thought happened. And they broke up, but he still loves her. In an attempt to win her back, he has written a song to her, titled with her name.
Why me more than the other 90,000 screaming fans?
Because I’m Jenny—he’s singing about me.
The guy is sex on legs with a voice to match and has starred in all my hot dreams since the day boys became interesting. For three precious years, it was more than hot dreams. Turns out he wants me back in his life and his bed. How can I resist?
So with lots of naked, sweaty and downright dirty time to make up for, I wield my backstage pass, hunt him down and refuse to be starstruck by the boy next door. Seems Robbie agrees, as he insists on tuning in to my needs and rediscovering our rhythm before we even reach a bedroom.
