Something To Talk About by Violet Summers

One sexy cop and one hot cowboy who are in love with each other but also want more, want the girl the cowboy grew up with. The problem is that she has always had people gossiping about her and can’t handle giving them Something To Talk About even more. Especially something as scandalous as a ménage relationship!
Miranda Lee Jenkins has been the subject of local gossip all her life, and has hated every minute of it. The last straw comes when she finds out her low-down-snake of a boyfriend has been cheating on her and everyone in the ever lovin’ town knew it!
Including her secret crush… Or, to be more accurate, secret crushes!
Wyatt has wanted Randi Lee for as long as he’s known her, and when his lover Jon meets the little spitfire, he wants her, too. The men know that no other woman can complete their family the way Randi can. Now, they just have to convince Randi that a love like theirs is worth giving the folks in town Something to Talk About!
Contains: Ménage, polyamory, hot male/male sex featuring a cowboy AND a cop, anal play and intercourse, naughty nurses and sponge baths
Miranda Lee Jenkins hates gossip more than anything, and small towns are the worse for it. Her dad left her mom for his young secretary when Randi was a baby and her mom proceeded to spend her nights trying to forget at local bars. The local busybodies have never let Randi get over it or do anything without comment. When she finds her boyfriend with another woman, it turns out everyone in town has known for months! All this time, she has been working and putting herself through nursing school while he sat on her couch. And nobody bothered to say a word to her, but she can just image what they have been saying about her and the no-good, free-loading cheat behind her back.

Wyatt Morgan grew up with Randi Lee and has had a crush on her since high school. He met Jon Denton in the Army and after two years they became lovers. Wyatt had even told Jon about Randi long before Jon ever met her. After leaving the Army, they came back to Carter County when Wy’s mother moved to Florida and left him the ranch. Jon became the local Sheriff while Wy runs the ranch and does some rodeo work (classic cowboy). They have a strong and loving relationship and deal with local attitudes (and gossip) about them being gay, mostly by ignoring them. However, both want (and are basically in love with) Randi with them as they are not really gay so much as ‘bi.’ Unfortunately, by the time they came back to Carter County, Randi was already with her boyfriend. So they have been waiting and hoping…

When Randi catches her boyfriend cheating, she goes crazy on his truck. Jon steps in and takes her back to the ranch for the night to give the boyfriend time to clear out of her place. This is when Jon and Wy tell her about their wanting her in their lives and bed. She has always been attracted to them, separately and together, so she takes them up on the bed offer for the night. But she can’t handle the long-term offer, fearing what others would think and the pain of the gossip. Not only does she leave them, but the whole town to finish school and start her nursing career.

Two years later…The guys still can’t get Randi out of their minds. They have a wonderful, loving relationship, but she is the missing peace of their heart(s). The small town is getting worse to live in, more close minded, so they decide to move closer to her and try to win her. Randi is now a full time nurse working in a big hospital close to Dallas. They guys buy a ranch Rollins and Jon becomes a Marshal. Now all they have to do is convince her to take a chance.

Randi has come to realize that she left her heart with the guys but is still living with her past fears. She has also learned that every place has gossip and the hospital is as bad as any small town. So when the guys show up, she can’t handle it and pushes them away. Until Jon arrives seriously wounded and she finds out just how much her heart is truly involved. But when the rumors start flying around the hospital, she runs from the guys fast enough to break both their hearts.

Will Randi ever get over her fears? And will the guys be able to trust her and take her back if she does?

GIRLS: If you have any spare time and have ever had some one cheat on you (or just want a good laugh anyway), you have got to ‘click’ through the Something To Talk About link and read the Excerpt. Randi’s reaction/response to her cheating boyfriend is absolutely priceless! I was literally saying “you go girl” out loud while reading that scene, as well as laughing. We may not go that far in real life, but it was a blast to read!

In Something To Talk About, Jon and Wyatt are so loving and committed to each other one wonders if our own relationships are this good. And what could Randi be thinking to pass up on being part of this ‘family’? Yes, her childhood was marked by town gossip and all that, but these guys are amazing and offer her something so hard to find! Both guys are hard working, caring, supportive, family focused, etc. And they want an exclusive relationship with her (yes, together but perfect otherwise and she doesn’t mind that except for the gossip past). One understands, to a point, where she is coming from, especially the risk to her career reputation.

Something To Talk About has something for almost everyone: sexy cop/marshal, smokin hot cowboy, skilled nurse, just a little man love, lots of ménage action, and three people learning to completely love each other. As with other Violet Summers books I have read, this is explicit (graphic), and covers quite a lot for only 78 pages. I still haven’t figured out have Violet makes it feel like a full novel in such a short amount of space and only an evening’s (or a couple of afternoon’s) reading. Something To Talk About, though different then the ‘club’ stories, is along the lines of what I am coming to expect from Violet and am happy to recommend both the book and author for erotic readers.
