The Cowboy and The Rose by Tess Quinn

I can honestly say the only thing I didn't like about The Cowboy and The Rose was the title. The hero, Gabriel Burdock is not a cowboy, he is a vintner, and a witch. I will admit he does wear a Stetson and cowboy boots, but that does not a cowboy make.

Gabriel and April are both witches with the same power, the ability to help plants grow. They were bonded as children, and must complete the bonding ritual within two weeks of April's twenty-fifth birthday or she will die and he will loose his powers. Unfortunately, Gabriel's parents didn't bother to tell him about the bonding until it is time for the bonding ritual to occur. Gabriel doesn't want to loose his powers, and he certainly doesn't want April to die, but he doesn't want a relationship either. Gabriel had his heart broken a year ago, when his fiance practically left him standing at the alter, and he's not willing to risk his heart again.

The Cowboy and the Rose was a really sweet romance. I loved the scene where Gabriel had the climbing roses on the house grow in through the window of April's room and bloom for her. Gabriel and April have a lot of emotional baggage to overcome before they find their happily ever after. But, sage advise from mom and dad, and a magical look into the future, pave the way for their happy ending. I really liked the family relationships in The Cowboy and The Rose. Gabriel's parents and his brother were terrific and I hope that Matt will have his story told in the future.

I will definitely be looking for future releases from Tess Quinn. I highly recommend adding The Cowboy and the Rose to your "to read" list. A wonderful, sweet, feel good romance.
