Jenna was hurt deeply in the past and the result of that is some strong walls she’s built to hide herself and not be subjected to such hurts again. Garreth is the only man she is willing to let even peak inside those walls until she learns some new things about him. Now, she is determined to hide only its really hard to hide when you are tied to a chair and forced to face some tough love. Jenna is a great character. As she grows and breaks down the walls it’s interesting to see the two people she tries to be merge together.

Garreth has been in love with Jenna for a long time and has done some thing to get them together that he knows will piss her off if she finds out. But, he is determined not to keep secrets and tells her. Now, Garreth has to figure out a way to break down her even bigger walls and deal with the hurt he’s caused as well as her past. Garreth is a very alpha character and pushes just enough to get Jenna to come out from behind the walls, but not so much as to hurt her.

Hidden Fire is a fun, sexy, romantic story that will leave you breathless and wanting more. I think we have all been in places where we build some pretty heavy duty walls and just live life without feeling much. Hidden Fire really illustrates that there is more to most people than the facade that they present everyday. While Hidden Fire is the second Fire book, it is perfectly enjoyable on it’s own, I know that I will be going to find the first Fire book, Winter Fire, to get the background on these characters.
